FAQs

Common Questions About CBD

Where does Flowe CBD oil come from?
All Flowe CBD-based products come from the industrial hemp plants grown on our 200 acre southern California farm.

Flowe CBD oil is made from CBD-rich hemp flowers grown on U.S. soil under the California sun. Flowe CBD rich oil is comprised hemp extract mixed with fractionated coconut oil also known as MCT (medium-chain triglycerides) oil.

There is a lot of poor quality CBD on the market due to a lack of regulation and imported products. Labeling is often inconsistent and unclear making it confusing for the customer.

Did you know that California has some of the strictest CBD regulations in the country? It’s one of the reasons why we chose to start our own farm. In California, CBD products are required to pass state-mandated lab tests to assure purity and potency.

As a customer, you can be confident that what is listed on the label reflects the product that is in the bottle. We choose to abide by California standards to ensure the highest quality and transparency for our customers.

Does CBD come from marijuana or hemp? And what’s the difference between the two?
Marijuana and hemp are two different varieties of cannabis that come from the same species of plant. In general, CBD is found abundantly in both. However, it’s important to note that CBD is typically found in the seeds and stem of marijuana – not in the flowering buds. The hemp plant is an entirely different strain of cannabis that contains high quantities of CBD throughout (stem, flowers, etc), and practically zero trace of THC. If a hemp plant contains more than 0.3% THC, it is then technically a “marijuana” plant.

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant cannabinoids found in the cannabis and hemp plant.

Hemp-derived medicine has been traditionally used across many cultures for centuries. For years, CBD had been neglected while recreational and medical users and scientists focused on the mind-altering chemical, THC.

More About CBD

What is cannabidiol (CBD)?

CBD is one of at least 545 naturally occurring compounds found in hemp. There are at least 150 cannabinoids, which are sometimes referred to as phytocannabinoids. Hemp also contains a potent blend of terpenes and flavonoids, vitamins, minerals, and essential phytonutrients.

The terpenes are responsible for the CBD-rich hemp flower’s intoxicating aroma and various tastes. These organic plant chemicals are safe and have no reports of serious or fatal responses.

Civilizations have been growing hemp for over 10,000 years. The multipurpose plant only has mild side effects, such as drowsiness, irritability, and nausea in high doses. Scientists and researchers are actively studying CBD and the other 150 cannabinoids to understand the plant’s benefits fully.

The differences between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and a CBD isolate

Flowe CBD only offers whole plant or full-spectrum oil that contains all 545 compounds. Federal and state law allows hemp to have up to 0.3% THC. The small amount of THC, the only psychoactive chemical found in the plants, isn’t enough to produce a high.

Some brands offer a broad-spectrum CBD that takes the hemp extract through another process to remove only the THC. The CBD isolate is a 99.9% pure form of the non-psychoactive compound.

Where is Flowe CBD-rich hemp flower grown?

We derive our CBD from high-quality, responsibly grown CBD-rich hemp flowers grown in the warm southern California sun.

How is Flowe CBD-rich hemp processed?

There are a few methods to process the plants. Flowe CBD uses an ethanol process to safely and effectively without leaving behind residual solvents. Many processors use this technique to remove compounds from plants for health and beauty products. In fact, the FDA lists ethanol as “generally regarded as safe.” The hemp phytochemicals are then infused into a safe and all-natural medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) oil derived from coconut oil.

What is third-party testing?

Hemp products aren’t screened or reviewed by the FDA, USDA, or any other government agency. Quality brands send their products to an independent lab to verify the safety and potency of their oils. Flowe CBD Whole Flower Oil goes through third-party screenings.

The facility checks for impurities, such as chemicals from the cultivation process, heavy metals, and solvents that might be left behind after the extraction process. After completing a full review, the lab issues a certificate of analysis or COA that verifies the product’s safety. The screening also makes sure the potency or amount of CBD per bottle is accurate. You can see Flowe CBD’s COA linked directly to each product on our product pages.

Does Flowe CBD-rich hemp extract get you high?

No. As mentioned earlier, CBD-rich hemp flowers contain less than 0.3% THC. Flowe hemp extracts meet all federal and state cultivation and processing laws. The small amount of THC isn’t enough to get consumers high.

How much CBD is in the 30ml bottle?

Each glass bottle of Flowe CBD Oil contains either 1250mg or 1600mg of CBD per bottle.

How many servings of CBD are in a 30ml bottle?

Consumers can get 42mg per serving of Flowe Sun Grown CBD Oil in our 1250mg bottle. The 1600mg bottle offers 53mg per serving.

Will CBD show up on a drug screening?

Drug tests look for THC metabolites, which means any product containing THC has the potential to show on a screening. But most tests have a cut off for small amounts. The 0.3% THC in hemp would fall below that threshold for most laboratories.

Is it legal to travel with Flowe CBD oil?

This is a complicated question. As of December 18, 2018, CBD products were legal to manufacture, sell, and use in all U.S. states under federal law. But each state can enact similar laws to limit access and override the federal legislation. As of 2020, CBD extracts are legal in all U.S. states.

If you’re traveling outside the U.S., the situation gets more complicated. CBD is legal in some areas around the globe, including in many EU countries. But the sentiment isn’t as friendly in many Middle Eastern and Asian countries. Also, laws vary significantly for CBD products in Mexico, Latin America, and Canada.

You should check with the local government if you’ll be traveling to a new area inside the U.S. or internationally before traveling with CBD.

Do you test your products on animals?

No! We never test our products on animals. All testing is done with human subjects that willingly try our CBD oils. In addition, Flowe CBD Oil is vegan-friendly.

What is the recommended serving size?

CBD doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all dosing chart. The body and needs of consumers vary. We recommend all users start with a low dosage and increase it slowly until they find the optimal amount. Most begin with 1/2 serving (1/2 dropper) once or twice daily. For the best results, use Flowe CBD at the same time every day.

How do I use CBD oil?

CBD tinctures are simple to use. The oil absorbs through the membranes under the tongue and into the bloodstream. Don’t swallow, eat, or drink for 30 seconds after taking the dose. Flowe CBD has a duration of about four to six hours.

If you’re not comfortable with the plant-like taste of the tincture and don’t want to hold the serving in your mouth for 30 seconds, you can swallow the oil or mix it with a food. This method is similar to an edible CBD product and takes between 30 and 90 minutes to work. Both ways of handling the CBD have the same four to six-hour duration.

What is essential to check when purchasing CBD oil online?

Most brands are safe and easy to purchase online. However, as with all digital sales, you should still follow some safety rules. Review the brand’s certificate of analysis (COA). Verify that the hemp is grown in the U.S. and check out the extraction process.

Lastly, look for brands that only make their tinctures with CBD-rich flowers. Some brands extract the compounds from the stems, stalks, and leaves only. High-quality oil is derived from the popular plant’s flowers, where the majority of the compounds are located.

Where can I do more research on CBD?

Thousands of scientific studies have been carried out specifically on CBD. Project CBD is a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting the research progress on this amazing supplement.

Flowe CBD Oil Best Practices

There’s no one-size-fits all approach to CBD dosing. When it comes to taking our oils, your personal CBD dose is unique. Start slowly and try 1/2 serving, then increase or decrease as necessary, until you find your CBD “sweet spot.”

CBD oil can be used throughout the day, to help support a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Simply use the dropper applicator to administer CBD oil directly under your tongue, or add a few drops to your food and beverages for a more discreet method.

We recommend using the dropper to add drops directly under your tongue as this method helps your body feel the results faster.
